Christophe Dupérê left the Big Brother Célébrités house this Sunday evening.
Many viewers have referred to him as a «houseplant» on social media because his game was rather low-key compared to other players, such as Mona, Gabrielle, or Félix.
His response to his detractors is perfect!
«All plants are good for oxygenating a house. That’s why it’s important to have them.»
«I understand that they may find me more discreet, but for me, that was my game. I didn’t have a hidden immunity idol. I didn’t betray anyone. I didn’t attack anyone. My social game was good. I was never in danger. So I was like: I’m going to keep living like this. I’ll just maintain all the relationships. That helped me a lot.»
He adds: «I thought the ‘alliance of four’ had a nice dynamic. We were very tight-knit. We kept all the information. We didn’t lie to each other. We told each other the truth. I’m really proud of that. And you know, Mona is straightforward. Gab is also straightforward. Me and Oussama, we were really appreciated in the house. Everyone talked to us. So we gathered information.»
«If you don’t play, you get out,» explains the humorist. «When you go this far in the adventure, it means you’re playing. But it’s just that in the editing, they focus on what’s really about betrayal, major strategy, or immunity idols, powers, all that… but everyone is playing.»
Christophe’s game, although more subtle, was rather exhausting. «My game was to be close to people, to have people come talk to me. It’s mentally exhausting because I can never make a mistake in what I say to people. It’s still a good mental challenge to do every day. I was in a recital in my head in the toilet or in the shower, thinking ‘what can I say to Félix, what can I not say to Marie-Ève, what can I say to her, what can I not say to the other?’ It’s draining, but people don’t see that.»
One thing is certain, Christophe brought sweetness and kindness to the house and to our screens. «I was vulnerable not just once. I repeat it. Crying is sexy. I did that all season! In week one, I cried to Mona because I had told Will about La Coop, because he was targeting Gab to put her on the block. So my vulnerability in full, I would have liked it to be seen more, but I think people felt it in the last show.»
Thank you Christophe Dupérê for this masculine sweetness on our screens!
Big Brother Célébrités airs Monday through Thursday at 7:30 pm and Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm on Noovo.
